India News: Engineering Graduates from Tier 2 & 3 are being asked to leave India due to workplace bias. As a Reddit engineer sparked an argument over IITian arrogance, workplace bias, and migration for respect, bias charges against IITians

Tier 2 and 3 discrimination

According to him, in India, Tier 2 and 3 graduates face disrespect and discrimination from IITians at workplaces. He also mentioned the examples of exclusion from meetings and social gatherings, overworking, and sabotage during promotions.
An engineer who had shifted to the US for a master's degree found the treatment starkly improved. He said that even though the IITians in the US did not change their arrogance, it was easier to avoid them and suggested others take up global opportunities for a dignified life.

A Culture or Personal Problem?

While some brushed the frustration off as a personal grievance or the culture of the specific company, others corroborated his account with the fact that arrogance among IITians is still prevalent in workplaces.

Mixed User Comments

Some users did minimize the problem, stating that IITians are not different from Tier 2/3 graduates. Others confessed that their experience with arrogance by IITians went back many decades ago.

Wider Significance

It made them discuss in broad terms the issues about India's hierarchical corporate culture, its fallout implications upon the workplace, and the trend for skilled professionals out in search of better opportunities abroad. This whole controversy raises rather serious issues to do with matters of workplace inequality and the effect of brain drain through this nature of disparity.
