NSA Ajit Doval holds high-level talks in Riyadh; emphasis on bilateral ties, regional security (X)

New Delhi: India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval paid an official visit to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, and held high-level meetings with senior Saudi leadership to focus on strengthening bilateral relations, energy cooperation, and discuss key regional developments, the Embassy of India in Riyadh said.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia on Sunday, where he held high-level meetings with senior Saudi leadership. He reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation and discussed the latest developments in the regional situation, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh said. 

Doval's visit comes just after the arrival of Pakistani fighter jets and troops in Saudi Arabia.

What was the meeting about?

During the high-level meeting, various areas of cooperation between the two countries were reviewed and the rapidly changing situation in the region was discussed in detail. 

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh provided information about this visit. 

"NSA Ajit Doval paid an official visit to Riyadh on April 19. He had meetings with Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and National Security Advisor Dr Musaed Al-Aiban," the Embassy of India in Riyadh said in a post on X.

According to the Embassy of India in Riyadh, these meetings covered a wide range of topics, including relations between the two countries, mutual interests, and regional issues. 

The embassy also stated that the discussions covered a wide range of strategic and regional issues.

"During the meetings they discussed bilateral relations, regional situation and other issues of mutual intrests," the embassy wrote.

Whom did Ajit Doval meet?

During his visit, Ajit Doval met prominent Saudi leaders, including Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and National Security Advisor Musaed Al-Aiban.

Amid this growing tension and uncertainty, Doval's visit is considered extremely important. It is not merely a ceremonial visit, but rather a sign of India's proactive diplomatic strategy amid the changing dynamics in West Asia. 

This visit comes at a time of heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, the world's largest oil supply route. Any instability there directly impacts the global market and India's energy needs.
