National News: India's recent retaliatory action against Pakistan's terrorist camps, 'Operation Sindoor', has now taken the form of a political storm. Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has made serious allegations against the central government, saying that informing Pakistan before this military action is a tampering with national security and a big crime. With this allegation, he directly targeted Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and demanded an answer from the government on whose instructions such a decision was taken.

Rahul Gandhi's attack: "Warning Pakistan is an act of treason"

Rahul Gandhi shared a video on social media platform X, in which Foreign Minister Jaishankar is allegedly seen saying that India had informed Pakistan that the Indian Air Force's attack would not be focused on the army, but on terrorist structures. Rahul Gandhi wrote with this video:

"Informing Pakistan before our attack is a criminal mistake. Who took this decision? Did our Air Force suffer strategic losses because of this?"

Government's counter-attack: "Video is completely fake, created with AI"

There has been a sharp reaction from the central government to this claim of Rahul Gandhi. The fact-check unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has termed the video posted by Rahul as "100% fake and misleading". According to PIB, this video has been digitally generated with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Foreign Minister did not make any such statement.

The government has strongly objected to this, calling it "misleading propaganda on a sensitive subject like national security for political gain".

What is 'Operation Sindoor'?

The military action taken by India on Pakistan after the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April was named "Operation Sindoor". In this operation, the Indian Air Force targeted terrorist camps located in Punjab and PoK of Pakistan.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif himself admitted that Indian missiles targeted Noor Khan airbase and other strategic locations and he got information about it at 2:30 am.

National security issue engulfed in the flames of politics

After this entire incident, there has been a lot of activity in the political corridors.

Congress alleges that the government weakened the morale and strategy of the Indian Army by warning the enemy country. At the same time, BJP and the central government have called it a "reprehensible attempt to create a fake story with the help of AI based video".

The question is whether the government gives any official press conference or statement in Parliament on the issue raised by Rahul Gandhi. The opposition is also fully prepared to fuel this issue and corner the government. This controversy is standing at a very sensitive juncture not only politically but also strategically.
