National News: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday strongly responded to opposition parties questioning the achievements of "Operation Sindoor" in the Lok Sabha. The operation was launched in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, in which 26 innocent civilians lost their lives. This retaliatory action not only gave a befitting reply to the terrorists but also highlighted India's defense capabilities.
During the monsoon session of Parliament, the Defense Minister targeted the opposition and said that some leaders are asking how many Indian planes were shot down in this operation. He termed such questions as "against the spirit of the nation" and said that the real question should be how much damage India caused to the enemy. Rajnath Singh reiterated, "We are proud that our soldiers successfully destroyed terrorist hideouts and gave a befitting reply to the enemy."
Rajnath Singh said that Operation Sindoor was completely successful. He said that India carried out targeted attacks on a total of nine terrorist hideouts located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in which more than 100 terrorists were killed. He also said that no Indian soldier was injured in this operation. "This operation is a proof of our planning, accuracy, and efficiency of the army," he said.
The defense minister urged the opposition leaders to rise above political differences and appreciate the courage and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces. He said, "It is the duty of every Indian to appreciate the soldiers engaged in protecting the country. At least on this occasion, the opposition should boost the morale of our soldiers."
Rajnath Singh said that Pakistan did try to retaliate, but the Indian defense system completely foiled it. India's modern anti-drone systems and electronic security infrastructure prevented enemy attacks, causing no damage to any of India's assets. The Defence Minister said that under Operation Sindoor, many major terrorist hideouts in Pakistan were targeted, including places like Chaklala, Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Jacobabad, and Rafiki. These attacks broke the back of the terrorists and gave the message that India will not sit silent now.
