Love Letters, Condoms & a Hidden Truth: Former Commander Reveals Reality of Pak Terrorists (OpenAi)
New Delhi: The statement of a former terrorist commander regarding terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has sparked a new debate. A former commander associated with the terrorist organisation has claimed that apart from weapons, such things were also recovered from many Pakistani terrorists killed by security forces, which raises questions on their claims of so-called 'Jihad'. He says that many times even love letters, personal belongings and condoms were found from the terrorists.
The name of the person who revealed this entire matter is Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, who was once a part of the terrorist network active in Kashmir. He later worked as an undercover operative with Indian security agencies. In a recent YouTube podcast, Mushtaq spoke openly on many untouched aspects of terrorism operating in the valley from the 1990s to 2016.
He claimed during a conversation that while many terrorists who were sent from Pakistan to Kashmir were presented with the face of religious struggle, the reality was quite different from that. He said material recovered after encounters often indicated that many terrorists were living a lifestyle different from their stated objectives.
According to him, after the action of the security forces, many times items like love letters, photographs of women, personal letters and condoms were recovered from the terrorists. He says that such items do not match the claims on the basis of which youth are pushed onto the path of terrorism. However, he did not mention any specific incident or date of recovery.
Serious allegations have also been made against Pakistan in the statement. The former commander said that terrorism has been continuously supported from across the border and the youth are misled in the name of religious sentiments. He claims that many youth are sent onto the path of violence without being told the real situation.
After this revelation, once again the discussion regarding the ground reality of terrorism in Kashmir has intensified. Security experts believe that there is often a huge gap between the ideology of terrorist organisations and the actual activities of their members. Such statements highlight the gap between terrorism propaganda and reality.
In the last few years, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have conducted continuous operations against terrorism. Many major terrorist structures have been destroyed and infiltration attempts have also been foiled. Officials say that continuous action is being taken against the network, funding and local support system of terrorists, which has affected the activities of terrorism.
Experts believe that such statements of former members associated with terrorism present a different picture before the people. This also investigates the claims on the basis of which attempts are made to attract youth towards radicalism. Amidst the growing steps towards peace and development in Kashmir, such revelations are bringing out the hidden realities behind terrorism.
