New Delhi: Pappu Yadav was arrested by Bihar Police on Friday in a 31-year-old case. This action was taken after strict orders of the court, as he had not appeared in the hearing several times. Police reached his residence in Patna to arrest him and later took him into custody.
This matter is related to Gardenibagh police station area. Complainant Vinod Bihari Lal alleges that his house was taken on rent fraudulently. Later the same place was used as the MP's office, although this fact was hidden from him at the time of the agreement.
When Yadav did not appear in the court despite being issued several summons and notices, an arrest warrant was first issued. After this the court gave instructions to paste the notice at his house. Still he did not appear. Ultimately, the court took a strict stance and ordered the confiscation of his and other accused's property.
This step is being considered a major legal turning point in this nearly three-decade-old case. The long pending hearing is now expected to speed up.
Before his arrest, Pappu Yadav gave his reaction on social media platform X. He said that this action is being taken for political reasons. He alleged that he was being targeted for raising his voice in support of NEET students.

Yadav wrote that the police reached his house to arrest him, but he would not yield to pressure nor would he keep quiet. He also said that whether it is jail or any other punishment, he will continue to speak out against what is wrong. Now it remains to be seen what direction the next hearing of this case takes in the court and in what direction the legal process moves forward.
