People paying less for toothpastes to tractors: PM Modi Says Russia 'Time-Tested Partner' (X)

PM Modi on new GST rate: Prime Minister Narendra Modi after inaugurating the International Trade Show 2025 in Greater Noida today, stressed about Make-in India, in order to make India self-reliant. He stated that despite global uncertainties, India’s growth remains resilient and remarkable.

Addressing the gathering at the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) Show 2025, PM Modi said, recently, the next-generation and services tax (GST) reforms were implemented. He also blamed Congress for misleading people on GST rate cuts. He further cited examples of reduced prices of items ranging from toothpaste to tractors.  

PM Modi on reduction of GST rates

PM Modi also hinted at reduction on GST rate during his today's address. He said, “Today, the country is proudly celebrating ‘GST Bachat Utsav’. I want to tell you that we are not going to stop here. In 2017, we brought GST… and then again (brought reforms) in 2025. We will further strengthen the economy. As the economy continues to grow, the tax burden will continue to decrease. With the blessings of the citizens, the reforms in GST will continue.” 

PM hinted people will save Rs 2.5 lakh crore

PM Modi addressing the gathering today, also mentioned that his government has reduced taxes, resolved the inflation issue, and increased as well as savings for the people.

He also mentioned that by making income up to Rs 12 lakh tax-free and introducing new GST rates, people are going to save Rs 2.5 lakh crore just in a year. 

PM Modi says Russia time tested partner

PM Modi while addressing the programme, mentioned that the partner for this business event is Russia. He further added that this means the two countries "are further strengthening this time-tested partnership."
