National News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar and West Bengal on Friday, just before the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. During this important trip, he will launch and lay the foundation stones for several key projects. In Bihar alone, the projects are worth nearly ₹13,000 crore, while in West Bengal, projects worth ₹5,200 crore, including three metro projects, will be inaugurated. The Prime Minister will also address public gatherings in both states.

Major Projects in Bihar

In Bihar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate six major projects worth ₹11,735 crore. These include a thermal power plant in Buxar, sewerage projects in Munger and Aurangabad, road development on NH-31, and the construction of bridges across the Ganga. Along with this, he will also lay the foundation stones of eight projects worth ₹1,257 crore, including water supply and treatment plants in Aurangabad, Bodh Gaya, and Jehanabad.

The Prime Minister will also launch new train services like the Amrit Bharat Express and the Buddha Circuit Train, which are expected to boost tourism and connectivity in the region. In addition, beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will receive symbolic keys to their new homes during the event.

Political Importance of Bihar Rally

PM Modi’s Bihar visit is politically crucial. Opposition parties are currently running campaigns against the NDA. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is leading the “Voter Rights Yatra” with support from RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav and other INDIA bloc leaders. They are targeting the NDA government, accusing it of misuse of power during elections.

By holding a large rally in Bodh Gaya, the prime minister is expected to motivate NDA workers and send a strong countermessage to the opposition. This will also be his sixth visit to Bihar since the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year.

Focus on West Bengal

In West Bengal, the Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth around ₹5,200 crore. These include three important metro projects that will improve urban transport in Kolkata and nearby areas. Politically, his Dumdum rally holds great importance. The Trinamool Congress currently dominates this region, but the BJP is trying to gain ground by highlighting issues like corruption and infiltration.

This will be PM Modi’s third visit to Bengal this year. In his earlier visits, he strongly criticized Mamata Banerjee’s government, and he is expected to take a similar stand during the Dumdum rally.

Balancing Development and Politics

The visit highlights both development and politics. On one side, it brings new infrastructure, housing, and transport projects for Bihar and Bengal. On the other, it aims to energize NDA workers and challenge opposition parties ahead of crucial Assembly elections.
