National News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Vadodara today where he is holding a mega road show. Prime Minister is greeted by thousands of people gathered at the road waiting to get a glance of the Prime Minister.
A special event is also organised as a part of the ‘Sindoor Samman Yatra,’ celebrated India’s successful Operation Sindoor, a military strike against terror camps in Pakistan. Crowds lined the 1-km route from Harni Airport to the Air Force station, waving tricolour flags and chanting “Bharat Mata ki Jai.” The highlight was the presence of Colonel Sofiya Qureshi’s family, who showered Modi with flower petals, symbolizing pride in the operation and Modi’s leadership.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, a Vadodara native and key figure in briefing the nation on Operation Sindoor, was represented by her family during the roadshow. Her twin sister, Shyna Sunsara, parents Taj Mohammad and Halima Bibi, and brother Sanjay Qureshi joined Modi on stage, showering petals in a heartfelt gesture. Shyna praised Modi’s commitment to women’s empowerment, stating, “When your sister does something for the country, it inspires us all.” Halima expressed joy at meeting Modi, while Sanjay thanked the defense forces. Their participation underscored Vadodara’s pride in Sofiya’s role and India’s military resolve.

The roadshow, vibrant with patriotic songs and cultural performances, reflected Vadodara’s deep connection to Modi, a former Gujarat CM. Residents, including a Zimbabwean student who praised India’s anti-terrorism stance, cheered Modi’s leadership post-Operation Sindoor, which destroyed 11 Pakistani airbases. Modi waved back, engaging with the crowd as women in red sarees showered petals. The event marked the launch of ₹82,950 crore in development projects across Dahod, Bhuj, and Gandhinagar, reinforcing Gujarat’s growth trajectory.
