Bihar Elections: Ahead of the Bihar elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Karpoorigram in Samastipur district, which is the birthplace of Karpoori Thakur, on Friday. After reaching Karpoorigram, PM Modi met the family members of Karpoori Thakur. He addressed a large crowd at the Samastipur airport ground. Notably, this is PM Modi's first election campaign in Bihar after the announcement of Bihar election dates.
It is to be noted here that PM Modi had recently, virtually inaugurated Karpoori Thakur Skill University. While inaugurating it, PM Modi said, “no social media team made Karpoori Thakur a Jan Nayak, the people of Bihar did.”
Addressing the crowd, PM Modi asked the audience to turn on their phones' flashlights and raise them. PM Modi said, "when there is so much light, what would be the need for a lantern". Notably, this was PM Modi's jibe at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), whose party symbol is a lantern.
Addressing the rally, PM Modi also launched an attack on Mahagathbandhan's RJD and Congress. He said that their leaders are out on bail in several cases of corruption.
During his address, PM Modi endorsed Nitish Kumar. He said, "In these elections, Bihar will give the NDA its biggest ever mandate so far."
