Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing the state government of promoting lawlessness. Addressing a rally in Durgapur, PM Modi expressed deep concern over the atrocities against women in the state, incidents of rioting, and biased actions by the police.
PM Modi said, "The atrocities being committed against women in West Bengal cause us pain and anger." He accused the TMC government of failing to maintain law and order. He also cited incidents of rioting, extortion (goonda tax), and biased policing as key reasons why investors are losing confidence in the state.
Speaking at the Durgapur rally, the Prime Minister said, "Why would investors come to a place like West Bengal where riots happen and the police act with bias? TMC’s 'goonda tax' is preventing investment in the state." He claimed that TMC’s misgovernance has turned West Bengal into a hub of lies, lawlessness, and loot.
PM Modi emphasized that the people of West Bengal are now looking to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with hope for change. He called TMC’s policies anti-people and said that the public now seeks development and good governance. At the Durgapur rally, he appealed to the public to support the BJP to bring stability and prosperity to the state.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid rising political tensions in West Bengal. The power struggle between the TMC and BJP is intensifying, and this rally is part of the BJP’s efforts to strengthen its position in the state. PM Modi asserted that only the BJP can free West Bengal from chaos and anarchy.
