New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for his three-country tour from today. On this trip he will visit Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman. According to the government, the purpose of this tour is to further strengthen India's political, economic and strategic relations with these countries.
Prime Minister Modi will reach Jordan first. Here he will meet the top leadership of Jordan. Discussions are expected between the two countries on regional security, situation in West Asia, and mutual cooperation. Relations between India and Jordan have been good for a long time and this visit is likely to give a new direction to bilateral relations.
After Jordan, the prime minister will go to Ethiopia. This tour is considered important from the point of view of India-Africa relations. Ethiopia is a major country in Africa, and the headquarters of the African Union is also located here. PM Modi can discuss issues like development, trade, education, and technical cooperation here. Apart from this, India is also expected to present its stand strongly on issues related to the Global South.
The Prime Minister will reach Oman in the last leg of the tour. Oman has been an old and trusted partner of India. A large number of Indian immigrants live here. PM Modi will meet the leadership of Oman and discuss issues like energy, trade, investment, and defense cooperation. Concerns related to NRIs and their contributions can also be discussed.
The government says that this visit is very important from the point of view of India's foreign policy. This will further strengthen India's role in West Asia and Africa. Also, new avenues can open in areas like trade, energy security, and strategic cooperation.
