PM Modi To Inaugurate Rashtra Prerna Sthal In Lucknow On Vajpayee's Birth Anniversary (X: Narendra Modi)
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Lucknow on Thursday, to inaugurate the newly built Rashtra Prerna Sthal on the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The Rashtra Prerna Sthal is a sprawling 65-acre memorial developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 230 crore. It has been built as a tribute to three towering figures in Indian public life, Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The site features towering 65-foot bronze statues of these leaders, symbolic of their contributions to nation-building and public service.
Visitors will also find a modern museum designed in the shape of a lotus covering nearly 98,000 square feet. This museum uses immersive and digital displays to trace India's political and cultural journey. There are galleries dedicated to the lives and ideas of these visionaries, audio-visual storytelling and displays on key milestones in Indian history.
The lamp, Sudarshan Chakra and a statue of Bharat Mata have been installed in a gallery of the museum. The venue includes a large rally ground capable of holding nearly two lakh people, an amphitheatre, with a capacity to host 3,000 people, meditation spaces, yoga centres and public facilities.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for around 2:30 pm at the Rashtra Prerna Sthal complex in the Vasant Kunj area of Lucknow. After the official unveiling, Prime Minister Modi is expected to address a public gathering. Alongside the Prime Minister, several central and state dignitaries, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union ministers, are likely to attend. The complex will open to the public after its inauguration by PM Narendra Modi.
