Baramati Crash: PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah Speak to Maharashtra CM on Ajit Pawar’s Death

New Delhi: After the plane crash in Baramati, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on phone on Wednesday. Both took information about the accident and expressed grief over the families of those who lost their lives.

According to government sources, PM Modi and Amit Shah asked the Chief Minister how the accident happened, how the situation was at the spot and whether the relief work was going on properly or not. They said that if needed, the central government will help in every way.

Which people died in this accident?

Six people including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in this accident. The Administration and Civil Aviation Department has confirmed this. Apart from Ajit Pawar, one of his security personnel, both the pilots and another passenger were also present in the plane.

When and how did the plane meet with the accident?

According to the information, the plane left Mumbai for Baramati at 8:10 am. He was supposed to land around 8:50. But minutes before landing, at about 8:48 p.m., the plane skidded off the runway. After this, it caught fire and the entire plane was burnt.

It was a chartered Learjet 45 aircraft, which was hired from Mumbai. It is not yet clear whether the accident happened due to technical fault or some other reason. It is being verified.

The police took all the bodies to the hospital, where the identification process is being completed. Ajit Pawar's family and party leaders have called this incident a big shock. The state government says that after the completion of the investigation, the real reason for the accident will be told to the people.
