Gujarat: During a programme in Vadodara, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the countrymen from his heart. He said that the increasing fashion of getting married and traveling abroad is not good for the country. Due to this, crores of rupees go out of the country. He appealed to the people to celebrate their weddings and holidays in their own country.
PM Modi asked a direct question: 'Is there a shortage of places to visit in our own country?' He said that India has thousands of years of old heritage, beautiful mountains, sea and forests. Instead of sending children abroad, take them to these places so that they can connect with their roots.
Modi said that marriage in India is not just a union of two people but it is a complete tradition which also includes the blessings of ancestors. When a marriage takes place on one's own soil, it has a different kind of peace. He described the Statue of Unity in Gujarat as the best place for marriage and said that marriage facilities there should be further developed.
The PM said that there is a war going on in West Asia and the economy of the entire world is in shaky state. This is affecting India also. We already import a lot of goods from abroad which consumes our foreign exchange. On top of this, if weddings and holidays also take place abroad, this pressure will increase further. That is why he talked about using less petrol and diesel, traveling by bus, metro and train and adopting carpooling.
Modi said that wherever possible, work from home and online meetings should be encouraged in offices. This will reduce petrol consumption. He also said that for the time being, postpone buying gold because a lot of the country's money goes out on the import of gold. Every small step helps in strengthening the economy of the country.
Modi said that this ongoing conflict in West Asia is the biggest crisis of this decade. Due to this, the supply chain of the entire world is deteriorating and oil prices are also being affected. In such difficult times, every Indian should help the country at his own level.
