The sacred festival of Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj has witnessed an overwhelming influx of devotees from all walks of life. From common pilgrims to Bollywood celebrities, people are flocking to the holy confluence to take a dip in the sacred waters. Among them, actress Poonam Pandey also joined the spiritual gathering on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, fulfilling her earlier commitment to participate in the divine ritual.
Prior to the event, Poonam Pandey had announced her plan to bathe in the holy river during Mahakumbh. Staying true to her word, she arrived in Prayagraj and immersed herself in the sacred waters at the Sangam. Following the ritual, she also took a boat ride across the confluence and shared her experiences on social media. Expressing her sentiments, she posted on Instagram: 'All my sins are washed away.'
The unfortunate stampede at Sangam Nose on Mauni Amavasya night left the Mahakumbh congregation in shock. Addressing the incident, Poonam Pandey conveyed her sorrow, stating, 'The tragedy that occurred on Mauni Amavasya is deeply saddening. However, the devotion of the pilgrims remains unwavering. Strength may falter, but faith should never diminish.'
Renowned for her bold roles and outspoken nature, Poonam Pandey embraced a different persona at Mahakumbh. Clad in a shirt bearing the word ‘Mahakal,’ she took a holy dip, performed prayers, and was seen with a tilak on her forehead, her head covered with a black dupatta.
Demonstrating her devotion and compassion, Poonam Pandey was also seen feeding birds while sailing across the tranquil waters of the Ganges and Yamuna. She later mingled with the devotees, soaking in the spiritual ambiance of the grand festival.
Mahakumbh 2025 continues to attract millions of devotees seeking spiritual awakening, cutting across social and economic barriers. Whether a commoner or a celebrity, the purpose remains the same—attaining divine blessings and salvation.
