The Pune Police has lodged an FIR against Manorama Khedkar, the mother of IAS officer Puja Khedkar, the controversial trainee IAS officer in Maharashtra. The FIR was filed after a video surfaced showing Manorama Khedkar holding a gun and allegedly threatening a farmer.
According to the sources, an old video that surfaced on social media amid the controversy involving trainee IAS in Maharashtra has led to an FIR being filed under sections 323, 504, and 506 of the IPC at the Paud Police Station against her mother under the Arms Act on Friday.
Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh while speaking to media informed, "This incident took place one year ago. We have traced the person with whom this incident took place. We have verified him. Whatever complaint he will give we will lodge that and take legal action further... "

According to a police official, the incident in the video concerned a piece of land in Dhadwali village in Pune's Mulshi tehsil that Puja Khedkar's father, retired Maharashtra government officer Dilip Khedkar, had purchased. The Khedkars were accused by the locals of encroaching on nearby farmers' land.
In the two-minute video, Puja Khedkar's mother Manorama Khedkar is seen fighting angrily with people while being escorted by her security officers. There's a video of Manorama Khedkar brandishing a pistol at a man. She approaches him, flashes the gun in his face, and then puts it away in her hand.

Notably, Puja Khedkar, a 2023-batch IAS officer in Maharashtra, is accused of posing as an OBC non-creamy layer candidate in her UPSC candidature and claiming that she was visually and mentally disabled. Meanwhile, the investigation in the case is on and she will be terminated if proven guilty.
