Punjab News: The people of Singhpur-Plaasi, who were earlier staying in relief shelters, have now started returning to their homes. With the floodwaters receding, the fear and helplessness they carried for weeks is slowly turning into hope. Families are relieved to step back into their houses and rebuild normal life. Minister Harjot Singh Bains confirmed that all villages cut off by floods are now connected again. Roads which were broken have been repaired, power lines fixed, and pipelines restored. Work that looked impossible a few days ago has been completed at a fast pace.
To prevent any disease outbreak, disinfectant spraying and fogging has been done in homes. Health teams are active in every village to treat people free of cost. These efforts are helping families feel secure about their surroundings after weeks of struggle.
A weak wooden bridge at Bela Dhiani was badly damaged by floodwater. The Minister announced it will now be rebuilt as a strong motorable bridge. This step is being seen as an investment in long-term safety and better connectivity for local villagers.
Not only people but livestock also suffered during the floods. Special vaccination camps have been held for animals and fodder has been distributed through trucks. Farmers are hopeful that such care will protect their cattle and help them recover from losses.
Revenue officers are conducting a special Girdawari survey in affected areas. These reports will decide the compensation to be given to families who lost property and crops. Villagers are waiting for fair relief so they can rebuild their lives with dignity.
Bains thanked panchayat leaders, volunteers, and youth who worked day and night during the floods. He said the courage of people in his constituency shows the real spirit of Punjab. The joint effort of administration and locals has brought quick recovery and relief.
