Punjab News: Mann said Punjab aims to become a hub for modern technology, global partnerships and industry advancement. The focus is on advanced manufacturing, mobility solutions, electronics development, food processing upgradation, renewable energy transition and global services expansion for long term growth.
The Chief Minister stated that Punjab and Japan share values like trust, discipline and long term commitment. He invited Japanese companies to join Punjab’s next industrial transformation phase, highlighting their already existing business confidence in the state.
Mann mentioned that top companies including Mazda, Sumitomo, SML Isuzu, Yanmar, Aichi Steel and Gunma Seiko work in automotive and manufacturing. Toppan and Oji Holdings lead packaging, Kansai Nerolac and Nissan Chemical are prominent in paints, Uniqlo in retail, while Mitsui And Company invests in renewable energy.
He said Invest Punjab has developed a Unified Regulatory Model that brings multiple departments under one system. This makes investment procedures simpler, faster and more transparent, encouraging foreign companies including those from Japan to expand operations in Punjab.
The virtual meeting included Japanese Embassy officials, JETRO, JCCII and over twenty five leading corporations such as Panasonic, Toyota, Nippon and NEC. It formed part of preparations for the 6th Progressive Punjab Investor Summit scheduled from 13 to 15 March 2026 at ISB Mohali.
The CM shared that Punjab secured first place nationally in the 2024 Business Reform Action Plan rankings. He said this reflects the state government’s commitment to improving ease of doing business, ensuring transparency and delivering efficient governance for investors.What
He said Punjab is known for resilience, hard work, enterprise and community support. The government aims to create job opportunities for youth and provide companies a stable business environment. He urged Japanese companies to expand participation in Punjab's industrial future.
