Punjab News: The Punjab Government’s Mission Chardi Kala has brought every section of society together. Through this campaign, well-known personalities from India and abroad are giving help in large numbers. The clear and honest system set up by the government has created trust among citizens, business leaders, film stars, and the Punjabi community living abroad. People feel sure that every donation is directly helping those in need.
Famous businessman and social worker Dr. Vikramjit Sahney has made one of the biggest donations. He gave ₹1 crore to the relief fund and also sent over 1,000 disinfection machines and other materials. In the past, Sahney gave scholarships to poor students, helped women earn their living, and provided oxygen concentrators during the Covid-19 crisis through his worldwide Punjabi network. His new effort shows that proper use of technology and resources can shape Punjab’s future. Film actor Sonu Sood, who became known during Covid for giving free transport, medicines, and jobs to lakhs of people, has again supported Mission Chardi Kala. He donated ₹5 crore and also said that through his foundation, he will start skill training and job drives for the youth in affected areas.
Industrialist Rakesh Bhatia also showed his trust in the Punjab Government by donating ₹10 crore to Mission Chardi Kala. Earlier, he helped farmers by building modern cold storage units and bringing hi-tech systems in mandis. He said helping Punjab recover is his social duty. Popular Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa won hearts by giving ₹1 crore. She said Punjab gave her name and success, and now the Punjab Government is returning that trust through fair action. Bajwa has earlier supported rural schools and girls’ education many times.
Through Mission Chardi Kala, sportspersons also came forward. Sports stars Sandeep Singh and Harbhajan Singh together gave ₹2 crore and said that, with the government, affected children will get free sports training and scholarships in academies. The Punjab Government called this the best example of sportsmanship and Punjabi spirit. Punjabi communities living in Canada and the UK have also given large help. Groups of overseas Punjabis sent nearly ₹50 crore to Mission Chardi Kala. These groups have earlier helped rebuild schools, hospitals, and villages in Punjab. Their support has given this campaign a global reach.
The hard work of Sakshi Sawhney, Amritsar’s first woman Deputy Commissioner, is also widely praised. She became known earlier for her excellent work during Covid management. Now, under Mission Chardi Kala, she is looking after the use of relief resources and checking self-help group programs for women. The government called her work a living example of Punjab’s strong administration. The Chief Minister said that because of the digital tracking system started by the government, every rupee is shown clearly to the public. This honesty has made Mission Chardi Kala a people’s movement powered by joint efforts. Today, Mission Chardi Kala is not just a government program but a combined movement of society and the government. Whether business leaders, artists, athletes, overseas communities, or officers—everyone’s part shows Punjab’s strength and its never-ending spirit of Chardi Kala.
