Chennai: As soon as the new government was formed in Tamil Nadu, a new controversy arose. Congress alleged that Instagram blocked Rahul Gandhi's post which he shared after the swearing-in ceremony of new Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. The party says that this step was taken at the behest of MeitY i.e. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Rahul Gandhi reached Chennai on Sunday and attended Vijay's swearing-in ceremony. After the program, he shared many pictures and a reel with Vijay on social media, which started going viral in no time. But the post disappeared shortly after, and then the real controversy began.
Congress leader Shrivatsa, while posting on social media, said that Instagram blocked Rahul Gandhi's post without giving any clear reason. He also said that the reach of Rahul Gandhi's social media accounts is being deliberately limited for a long time. The party directly linked this to government pressure.

Sources associated with the ministry denied these allegations outright. They said that the government has nothing to do with this matter. Instagram's system mistakenly flagged the post, causing it to be removed and later reverted. That means it was a matter of technical glitch and not of any pressure.
After taking oath, Vijay fulfilled many big promises simultaneously. He announced he would provide 200 units of free electricity to domestic consumers. Along with this, it was also announced to create a separate force for the safety of women and to constitute a special task force against drug addiction.
TVK, contesting elections for the first time, broke the dominance of established parties like DMK and AIADMK – a big thing in itself. This journey of victory is not just the victory of a leader but the beginning of a new chapter in the politics of Tamil Nadu.
