In a tragic accident in Dausa, Rajasthan, four members of a family lost their lives when their car crashed into a stationary truck late Friday night. The family, hailing from Rohtak in Haryana, was on a religious visit to the famous Mehandipur Balaji temple when the accident occurred near the Collectorate junction on National Highway 21.
Police reported that the car was completely crushed and had become lodged inside the truck. Upon receiving the emergency call, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Prakash Sharma and officers from Kotwali police station rushed to the scene. The injured were immediately taken to the district hospital in Dausa, but doctors declared all four dead on arrival.
The victims were identified as Deepanshu, his mother Rajbala, his sister Sakshi, and their grandmother Pramila. All were residents of Rohtak, and the family had recently suffered the loss of Deepanshu’s father, according to relatives.
Due to the severity of the crash, traffic on the highway came to a halt for several hours. The wreckage caused a massive jam, which was cleared only after both the car and the container truck were removed using cranes. The vehicles involved are now held at the Sadar police station for further investigation.
Relatives of the deceased reached Dausa by Saturday morning. Police have said the bodies will be handed over to the family after formal procedures are completed. Anand, a relative of the victims, shared that Deepanshu had last spoken to someone at around 9:30 p.m., informing them they were near Alwar. The crash was discovered later that night. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine how the accident occurred and whether negligence was involved.
