Here a newly married woman brutally murdered her 53-year-old husband while he was sleeping just 15 days after marriage. This heart-wrenching incident occurred in Kupwar tehsil of Sangli, where at around 12:30 pm on Wednesday and Thursday, the 27-year-old wife stabbed her husband and ended her husband. The murder has surprised the local people, while the police is also investigating it as a result of deep mental and social stress, not only a domestic dispute. According to the police, there was a fierce debate between the accused woman, Radhika, and the deceased, Anil Lokhande, on Wednesday night. After the debate, when Anil went to sleep on his bed, Radhika got angry and stabbed him with an ax. The attack was so dangerous that Anil died on the spot. According to the information, this was Anil Lokhande's second marriage. His first wife died of cancer, after which he married Radhika. Police say Radhika did not want to get married, but Anil forcibly got married. There was often tension between the two about this.
Officials of Kupwad MIDC Police Station said that the woman has been arrested on the spot. She has been booked under several serious sections, including Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. At present, she has been sent to judicial custody, and the case is being investigated thoroughly.
The police is now trying to find out whether the murder was only the culmination of the quarrel or there is another deep reason behind it. Was this crime preplanned?
