After attending a event in Delhi, Shashi Tharoor was all praises for PM Modi. Speaking about PM Modi, Shashi Tharoor said, ''He spoke of India's "constructive impatience" for development and strongly pushed for a post-colonial mindset.''
He further talking about PM Modi's speech at the event, said, ''The PM emphasized that India is no longer just an 'emerging market' but an 'emerging model' for the world, noting its economic resilience. PM Modi said he’d been accused of being in “election mode” all the time, but he was really in “emotional mode” to redress the problems of the people.''
Shashi Tharoor further praising PM Modi mentioned, ''A significant part of the speech was dedicated to overturning Macaulay's 200-year legacy of "slave mentality." PM Modi appealed for a 10-year national mission to restore pride in India’s heritage, languages, and knowledge systems. I wish he had also acknowledged how Ramnath Goenka had used English to raise a voice for Indian nationalism!''
He continued to add, ''On the whole, the PM’s address served as both an economic outlook and a cultural call to action, urging the nation to be restless for progress. Glad to have been in the audience despite battling a bad cold and cough!''
Meanwhile, PM Modi spoke on several issues at the event. PM Modi said, ''Come, let us collectively resolve to free ourselves from the colonial mindset that was nothing but a mindset of slavery.'' He further added, ''The influence of Maoism is shrinking. And, that is great for India’s development.''
It is to be noted here that NDA marked historic win in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Talking about the same, PM Modi said, ''To win polls, one doesn’t have to be in 24/7 election mode. One has to be in ‘emotional mode’ and understand the needs of the people.''
Talking about India's growth model, PM Modi said, ''India’s growth model is seen as a model of hope for the world.'' He added, ''Democracy becomes stronger when more people participate. The recent Bihar election witnessed a record high turnout, made even more special by the high women turnout.''
