Nashik: The case of alleged sexual exploitation and forced religious conversion related to the Nashik unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has created a sensation across the country. Now a new revelation has come to light about Nida Khan, who is absconding after her name surfaced in this case. According to sources, the woman who was being described as the HR head was working as a telecaller in the company. Meanwhile, the police have arrested several accused in the case and the investigation is ongoing.
Sources say that Nida Khan did not work in a senior position in the company but worked as a telecaller. In the initial reports, she was described as the HR head, but now this claim seems to be proved wrong. At present she is absconding and the police are searching for her.
According to the complaints, a group of some employees used to target the girls together. It is alleged that he was mentally tortured and put under religious pressure. So far, nine FIRs have been registered in this matter, including one complaint by a male employee.
The complaints state that employees were pressured to adopt religious practices, objectionable comments were made against deities and there was also coercion regarding food. In some cases, when attempts were made to complain, there was also an allegation of discouraging them.
Police have so far arrested eight people in this case, including seven men and one woman. Investigating agencies say that some of the accused held high positions in the company and misused their position.
Initial reports had revealed that the unit was closed, but later it became clear that the office had not been completely closed. Employees have been given the option to work from home, while some employees are also coming to the office.
According to sources, in recent years the company has made many improvements regarding workplace safety. Due to strengthening of POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) systems, employees are now filing complaints more openly. This is considered to be the main reason for the increase in complaints.
