Security forces conduct search ops in Sopore (ANI )

Kashmir terrorist encounter: Security forces have cornered a group of terrorists linked to the recent killings of two village defense guards in Kishtwar district, Jammu & Kashmir. An encounter is currently ongoing, with reports of injuries sustained by an army officer and another soldier in the intense gunfire exchange.

Terrorists behind village guard killings cornered

Approximately four terrorists, believed to be responsible for the abduction and fatal shooting of two village defense guards in Adhwari, Kishtwar, are currently trapped by security forces. The Kishtwar police confirmed that this group is behind the recent killings, stating, "Encounter begins at Keshwan Kishtwar between terrorists and security forces. 3/4 terrorists believed to be trapped. This is the same group which killed the 2 innocent villagers."

Multiple encounters within 24 hours

This encounter marks the third major clash between security forces and terrorists within 24 hours in Jammu & Kashmir. Earlier, a firefight erupted in Srinagar’s Zabarwan forest area, where security forces acted on specific intelligence about terrorist presence. The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed, “A joint Police and security forces operation was launched in the Zabarwan forest area of #Srinagar. An exchange of fire ensued during the operation."

Prior encounters in Baramulla

On the preceding day, security forces engaged in an anti-terror operation in Baramulla’s Rajpura area. The Indian Army's Chinar Corps reported that one terrorist was neutralized in this encounter. “One terrorist has been neutralized by the security forces in the ongoing operation in the general area Rajpura, Sopore, Baramulla,” the Indian Army said, detailing efforts to address suspicious activity in the area.
