Maharaj and his ways have always drew controversy on the board of politics. He was also detained in the Tihar jail while he awaited trial for roughly a month. His acquittal in 2001 was based on insufficient evidence. He criticized the Samajwadi Party in January 2002, charging it with capitalism, nepotism, tyranny, and casteism. He also once mentioned that Mohammad was a great yogi and that he is a true muslim!

The controversy

BJP MP Sakshi Mahwaj sparked a controversy in 2015 when he declared that Prophet Mohammed was the greatest yoga practitioner and that he was a sincere Muslim. "The greatest name in Islam is Mohammed, and I believe Mohammed saab to be a wonderful yogi," Maharaj remarked. A Muslim, in my opinion, is someone who possesses "iman," or a Mussalman. I truly am a Muslim."

UP and trouble!

Previously, criticizing Uttar Pradesh Minister Mohd Azam Khan, who counseled Yogi Adityanath to perform namaz, the divisive BJP MP stated that although Hindus accept the name "Allah" because they adhere to distinct cultural beliefs, Azam Khan ought to have the courage to say "Jai Shree Ram" to demonstrate his Indianness. Prior to the government's elaborate arrangements for Yoga Day on June 21, the BJP MP had also declared that everyone who was against the surya namaskar needed to dive into the ocean.

Divine remarks have been usual of Maharaj ji

Sakshi Maharaj has previously made a number of divisive remarks. He stated earlier this year that all Hindu women have to have four children or more. "It is time for a Hindu woman to generate at least four children in order to maintain Hinduism," stated the Unnao MP. "The concept of four wives and forty children would not work in India."
