TMC on the Verge of a Split: Is West Bengal Facing a Maharashtra-Style Political Crisis? (Pinterest)
West Bengal: Mamata Banerji led Trinamool Congress (TMC) likely to break, as possibilities of an another section of TMC may emerge under the leadership of Ritbrit Banerji. Although there's no any officially confirmation but the MLAs may submit the Endorsement letter to the assembly speaker.
If the possibility emerges, the party may split into 60 and 20 MLAs. 60 MLAs may shift into another TMC split.
If the 60 MLAs supported Ritbrit Banerji, The Leader of opposition (LoP) states may also replaced by the new proposed TMC.
According to reports, the rumored TMC split had gained the support from 60 MLAs, out of total 80.
According to Tapas Roy, Cabinet Minister in the Government of West Bengal, told that the situation can be like Maharashtra. Roy also claimed that TMC included several such people in the party who who didn't have much of a connection and involvement with politics.
Ritbrit Banerji told in conversation with media "I believe in taking it one day at a time." He also added that there was no any kind of official proposal put on the desk rather it was just a attendance type form.
TMC expelled Ritbrit Banerji along with one other by the TMC.
Several TMC MPs and MLAs were absent from the protest gathering, of Mamata Banerji. Leaders like Chandrima Bhattacharya, Shobhandev Chattopadhyay, Derek O'Brien, Firhad Haqim and other senior leaders had not attended the gathering. This protest gathering was planned at Y-Channel Bus station.
