Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead Of PM Modi’s Noida Airport Visit; Check Routes, Parking Details

Noida: Uttar Pradesh's much-anticipated Noida International Airport is now fully ready for inauguration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the airport on Saturday. Due to the inauguration ceremony, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police had issued an advisory. 

With the opening of the airport's first phase, direct flights are expected to begin to several major cities across the country, improving connectivity. This will not only facilitate travel but also boost regional development and economic activity.

What did the police say?

"We have issued a traffic advisory to ensure that there is no hindrance to the movement of vehicles on roads," officials added.

Authorities have banned entry of heavy, medium, light goods vehicles on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Yamuna Expressway until late evening. 

The advisory will be in effect from 7 am to 11 pm on Saturday.

What about the route diversion?

  • Commercial vehicles coming from Gopalgarh to Jewar via Jewar-Tappal will be sent back towards Tappal.
  • Vehicles coming from Khurja to Jewar will be diverted from Khurja side itself.
  • Traffic coming from Secunderabad-Kakrod will be diverted towards Khailri via Chachura Canal Bridge. 
  • Vehicles coming from Agra will take a U-turn before Jewar toll and proceed via Aligarh and Tappal.
  • Vehicles going from Noida-Greater Noida to Agra (via Yamuna Expressway) will be diverted via Pari Chowk, Alpha Commercial Roundabout and Eastern Peripheral.
  • Vehicles coming from Meerut, Hapur and Ghaziabad will get off at Bill Akbarpur exit and proceed further on NH-91. 
  • Vehicles coming from Palwal will not be allowed to exit from Sirsa Loop.

What about the parking arrangements?

According to the traffic police, a total of 15 parking areas have been set up around Jewar Airport. These areas can accommodate 14,700 heavy and medium vehicles and 5,000 two-wheelers. This arrangement is for VIPs, media personnel, and the general public.

Deployment of 7000 policemen?

About 7,000 police personnel will be deployed for security at the airport inauguration ceremony, and 300 CCTV cameras will monitor the entire event. Cargo vehicles will be banned on the Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway from 7 am to 11 am on Saturday.
