Twisha Sharma Death Case: Husband Recalls Fight Over Ajmer Trip Hours Before Tragedy (X)
Bhopal: The most crucial phase of the investigation has now begun in Bhopal's highly controversial and sensitive Twisha Sharma death case. The accused husband, Samarth Singh, is currently on seven-day remand by Bhopal Police. According to top police sources, the interrogation will not be limited to simple questioning; Samarth's entire statement will be examined layer by layer. The status of their relationships, alleged disputes, Twisha's pregnancy, her activities before her death, the scene of the incident, call records, CCTV footage, mobile phone, and Samarth's behavior after the incident are all under scrutiny.
According to police sources, the first and most crucial question Samarth Singh will have is what exactly happened on May 12. Investigators may ask him for a minute-by-minute account of the incident. Where was Twisha from morning to evening, who was she talking to, how was she behaving, was she stressed, was there a dispute within the house, and what were the circumstances that led to her death within a few hours?
According to sources, Samarth may also be taken to the scene for spot verification. The police want to know from him where he was at the time of the incident, what he saw, how he learned about the incident, who else was present in the house, and the condition in which Twisha Sharma's body was found. The place where the hanging is alleged, the alleged belt, the room, the ceiling, the bed, and the movements of family members will all be compared with Samarth's statement.
A major part of the investigation will also focus on the allegations made by Twisha's maternal family. Twisha's family has repeatedly alleged harassment and raised serious questions about the role of Samarth Singh and his mother, retired judge Giribala Singh. The police may confront Samarth with these allegations.
During the initial two hours of questioning, Samarth told the police that their relationship was normal after marriage. He said that Twisha's pregnancy was confirmed on April 17, 2026, and after that, her behavior began to change. Samarth claimed that after returning from the hospital, Twisha said she wanted to go to her home in Delhi and could no longer live a domestic life.
According to Samarth, that same evening, she flew to Delhi and then to her home in Noida. Samarth also told the police that after much persuasion, Twisha returned to Bhopal with her mother and brother on April 23. However, according to him, tensions remained in their relationship. Samarth said that he had pre-booked tickets to Bengaluru on April 24. Twisha initially agreed, but later refused to go with him, saying she wanted to visit her brother in Nasirabad, Ajmer. According to Samarth, this led to an argument between the two.
On the night of her death, Twisha called her mother at 10:05 pm and told her what had happened.
Sharma's brother, Major Harshit Sharma, an officer with the Indian Army, said that she had called her mother at 10:05 pm on the night of her death. He said that she had abruptly disconnected the call after her husband entered the room.
"Repeated attempts were thereafter made to contact her by our family, but no one responded," he added.
