UP News: A land dispute in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, took a horrifying turn when 17-year-old Anurag Yadav was beheaded in a violent confrontation. The incident occurred between two families, reportedly longstanding rivals over the contested land, when tension escalated, resulting in Anurag’s death at the hands of Ramesh Yadav, the son of one of the disputing parties.

Decades-old land dispute escalates to tragedy

The dispute between Ramjeet Yadav and Lalta Yadav, both residents of Jaunpur, had simmered for years, pending in the civil court. On the day of the incident, Ramesh Yadav allegedly began clearing the land, which sparked an altercation. According to police reports, Ramesh used a sword, decapitating Anurag Yadav, the teenage son of Ramjeet Yadav, in the ensuing confrontation.

Superintendent of Police Ajaypal Sharma confirmed that tensions had reached a critical point during the confrontation, culminating in a deadly assault. A police presence was immediately dispatched to the scene to prevent further escalation.

The incident quickly gained widespread attention, particularly as villagers reported the victim’s mother holding her son’s severed head in her lap for hours, unwilling to part from him.
