Uttar Pradesh: Several Killed As Sleeper Bus Going To Bihar Overturns In Lucknow

Lucknow: A horrific road accident occurred on Monday in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. A sleeper coach bus heading to Bihar overturned at the Purvanchal Expressway toll plaza in Lucknow's Gosaiganj area. Seven people were killed and more than 40 injured. The injured have been sent to the hospital. Police and disaster relief forces are engaged in relief and rescue operations. Senior officials are arriving at the scene. Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant has also left for the scene. The bus was carrying passengers from Panipat to Arharia, Bihar.

When and where did the accident occur?

A major accident occurred at around 4:30 pm on Monday in Jaukhandi village of Gosaiganj, Lucknow. A speeding sleeper bus lost control and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway. The horrific road accident caused chaos and screams. Police officers arrived at the scene and managed to rescue the people trapped inside the bus. So far, seven people have been reported dead, while more than 40 are reported injured. The seriously injured were referred from CHC Gosaiganj to the KGMU Trauma Center. Additional ambulances were dispatched from the headquarters.
