UP News: The Maha Kumbh 2025, a monumental spiritual gathering in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has come under fire for the chaos caused by VIP movements. This revered event, traditionally a time for peace and devotion at the Triveni Sangam, has instead turned into a source of frustration for many pilgrims as access to crucial areas was frequently limited to accommodate dignitaries.

Pilgrims Express Frustration

Social media platforms have been flooded with videos depicting agitated devotees voicing their discontent over the disruptions. Footage shows roads leading to the Sangam divided, with one side congested with pilgrims struggling to navigate through the crowd, while the other side is cleared for VIPs.

This stark contrast has ignited outrage among attendees, prompting criticism of the Uttar Pradesh government's handling of crowd management.

Akhilesh Yadav Critiques VIP Culture

Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party, has publicly condemned the situation. He shared videos highlighting the struggles of devotees attempting to reach the Sangam and called on the administration to prioritize pilgrims over VIP arrangements. “The government should ensure smooth transport for pilgrims instead of creating difficulties due to VIP protocols. The Maha Kumbh should be about special arrangements for the devotees, not the dignitaries,” Yadav remarked on X.
