New Delhi: Amidst the dangerous and life-threatening heat gripping the country, storms and rainfall are once again poised to strike. According to the Meteorological Department's forecast, an alert for heavy rain and storms has been issued for tomorrow—April 27—covering nine states, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. During this period, warnings regarding lightning and thunderstorms have also been issued. Residents in several districts across the eastern and hilly states may face increased difficulties. Accompanying the rain, gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 75 kilometers per hour are expected.
Farmers are advised to remain extremely vigilant. A cyclonic circulation is currently forming in the lower troposphere over eastern Uttar Pradesh and its adjoining areas. Additionally, another cyclonic circulation is present in the lower troposphere over northeastern Jharkhand and its surrounding regions.
According to the Meteorological Department's projections, rain and storms are set to cause disruptions in nine states across the country on April 27. The states where rainfall is anticipated include Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. These states are likely to experience gusty winds blowing at speeds ranging from 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.
On April 27, Delhi is expected to experience dangerous and life-threatening heatwave winds during the day. The speed of these winds could range between 20 and 25 kilometers per hour. On April 27, the maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to hover around 42 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be 29 degrees Celsius.
A warning for rainfall has been issued for the following cities and districts: Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Lalitpur, Sitapur, Hardoi, Bahraich, Varanasi, Azamgarh, Deoria, Kushinagar, Jaunpur, Mau, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Pilibhit, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Aligarh, and Mathura. In Lucknow, the maximum temperature tomorrow is expected to be 42 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be 28 degrees Celsius.
A rain warning has been issued for Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Purnia, Saharsa, Supaul, Madhepura, Araria, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Jamui, and Gaya. Additionally, strong winds gusting up to 55 kilometers per hour may blow during this period. There is a risk of significant damage caused by lightning strikes. In Patna, the maximum temperature tomorrow is expected to be 39°C, while the minimum temperature will be 26°C.
The alert covers Pithoragarh, Nainital, Tehri Garhwal, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Tehri Garhwal. A warning has been issued regarding winds blowing at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour during this time. In Dehradun, the maximum temperature tomorrow will be 35°C, and the minimum temperature will be 22°C.
A warning for rain and storms has been issued for Bhiwani, Faridabad, Palwal, Panipat, and Sonipat. An alert has also been issued regarding strong winds blowing at speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour during this period. This rainfall is expected to cause a drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in temperatures.
A rain warning is in effect for Kangra, Kullu, Chamba, Shimla, and Kinnaur. Strong winds during this period could create difficulties. Residents are advised to remain extremely vigilant during this time. Meanwhile, in Manali, the maximum temperature tomorrow will be 9°C, and the minimum temperature will be 0°C.
There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Churu, Sikar, Alwar, Nagaur, and Jhunjhunu. Strong winds gusting up to 60 kilometers per hour may blow during this period. Meanwhile, tomorrow—April 26—the maximum temperature in Jaipur is expected to be 42 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be 28 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Punjab on April 27. Furthermore, the districts in Punjab for which a rain alert has been issued include Jalandhar, Bathinda, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Pathankot, Kapurthala, and Ludhiana. During this period, strong winds and storms with speeds ranging from 50 to 60 kilometers per hour are expected.
There is a strong likelihood of rainfall in Anantnag, Kupwara, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Shopian, and Pulwama. During this time, winds may blow at speeds ranging from 50 to 55 kilometers per hour.
The districts in Madhya Pradesh where rainfall is expected include Bhind, Sagar, Chhindwara, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad, and Balaghat. In Bhopal, the maximum temperature tomorrow is expected to be 42 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be 30 degrees Celsius.
