Weather Report: Will There Be Any Relief From Intense Cold? Know IMD Forecast

As intense cold conditions continue in various parts of the country, including North India the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that no relief is expected in the coming days.

Weather Update: As intense cold conditions continue in various parts of the country, including North India the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that no relief is expected in the coming days. 

What is the weather forecast by the IMD?

According to the IMD, dense fog is likely to prevail in isolated pockets of North India and Bihar during the next seven days, and in isolated pockets of Central India, Northeast India, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next two to three days.

Cold day conditions are likely in isolated areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh during the next three days. Cold wave conditions are expected in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Odisha, and North Interior Karnataka on January 10 and 11, in Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar on January 10, and in Rajasthan during January 11-14.

What was the temperature range?

Over the last 24 hours, minimum temperatures were below freezing point in many places in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, 0-5 degrees Celsius in some places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and North Madhya Pradesh, and 5-10 degrees celsius in many places in Uttar Pradesh, the rest of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, some places in Haryana and Central Maharashtra, and some places in Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Saurashtra and Kutch, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Telangana.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no significant change expected in minimum temperatures over Northwest India and East India during the next seven days. No significant change is expected in minimum temperatures over Central India and Maharashtra during the next 24 hours, followed by a gradual rise of two to three degrees Celsius over the subsequent four days. 

Will there be any changes in the next three days?

No significant change is expected in minimum temperatures over Gujarat during the next three days, followed by a gradual rise of two to three degrees over the subsequent four days. No significant change is expected in minimum temperatures over Northeast India during the next 24 hours, followed by a gradual rise of three to four degrees celsius over the subsequent four days.
