Weather Today, August 25: Heavy Rain Alert In 13 States, Winds May Reach 80 Kmph

New Delhi: Monsoon has once again gained momentum in the country. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy to very heavy rain in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar on August 25. At some places there will be rain with strong wind and thunder. The wind speed can go up to 40 to 80 kilometres per hour. According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area has formed over the Ganga region of West Bengal, Jharkhand and northern Odisha. Due to this, conditions of heavy rain are being created in many states.

In which states is there an alert of heavy rain?

IMD has warned of heavy rain in many areas including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tripura and Andaman-Nicobar. At some places, there may be rain with strong wind and lightning.

Why has there been such a big change in the weather?

The weather department says that the weather has changed due to the low pressure area and the trough line associated with it. A system is forming from south-west UP to northern MP, northern Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand which is continuously pulling moist winds. Due to this, clouds are forming and it is raining heavily.

Will there be more rain from Odisha to MP?

Due to this low pressure, heavy to very heavy rain may occur at many places in Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. In some districts, situations like flash floods can also arise.

How will the weather be in Delhi today?

It will be cloudy in Delhi today on 25th August. There may be light rain from morning to afternoon and then in the evening. The maximum temperature will be around 34 to 35 degrees and the minimum will be around 25 to 26 degrees. Light rain may continue for the next two days also.

In which districts of UP will there be heavy rain?

There is a rain alert in both eastern and western UP. There may be heavy rain in Varanasi, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Meerut, Agra, Bareilly, Moradabad, Saharanpur and surrounding areas. Rain will be more active in Eastern UP between 25 and 27 August.

What is the warning regarding rain in Bihar?

Heavy rain may occur in many districts of Bihar including Patna, East Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Gaya, Rohtas. There will be good rains in the entire state on 25th and 26th August and this trend will continue in the coming days also.
