Weather Takes A Turn In Delhi-NCR And UP As IMD Issues Alert For 14 States

New Delhi: Monsoon has once again gained momentum in the country. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning in many states for Thursday, August 27. According to IMD, this weather is being formed due to the low-pressure area and monsoon trough formed over Jharkhand and East Madhya Pradesh.

Warning of heavy rain in which states?

According to the latest bulletin of IMD, heavy rain may occur in these states on August 27:
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sub-Himalayan Bengal-Sikkim. Apart from this, there is a red alert of very heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. Light to moderate rain and strong winds may occur in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand.

How strong will the winds blow?

There is a possibility of strong winds at a speed of 30-40 km per hour in many areas. In Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bengal and Telangana, wind speed can reach 40-50 km per hour, which can even reach 60 km. Avoid going out in the open, near weak trees or electric poles.

What will be the condition in Himachal-Uttarakhand?

There is a danger of landslides in the hilly states. There may be heavy rain in Mandi, Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Chamba, Kinnaur of Himachal. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh and Chamoli of Uttarakhand. People traveling in the mountains should be careful.

How will the weather be in Delhi-UP?

It will be cloudy in Delhi today and there may be light to moderate rain. Strong winds of 40-50 km can also blow. The temperature will be around 29 to 34 degrees. There will be more impact of rain in the eastern districts of UP - Balrampur, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Gonda, Bahraich, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur. The weather will be a bit mild in Western UP.

Alert in which districts in Bihar?

In Bihar, most of the districts including Champaran, Gaya, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Saharsa, Supaul, Araria, Purnia may experience thunderstorms and strong winds up to 50 km. Advice for farmers and fishermen: Do not work in the fields in fear of heavy rain and lightning. Fishermen should not venture into the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal from August 27 to September 1.
