New Delhi: A big change is being seen in the weather of the country. The south-west monsoon has gained momentum. Heavy rain has started in many states. At the same time, some parts of North India are still suffering from heat and humidity. The Meteorological Department has issued a new alert for June 27. There is a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in Maharashtra, Northeast Bengal, Sikkim and South India.
People of Delhi-NCR will have to wait longer for monsoon. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon will reach the capital in the first week of July. At present it will be cloudy for the next two to three days. There may be light drizzle or thunderstorms in some places. But there will be no respite from the humidity. The day's temperature will remain around 40 degrees. The heat will bother even at night.
The situation may worsen in the North-East. The next 48 hours are very heavy in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. More than 200 mm of rain is expected in many areas. The risk of floods and landslides has increased in low-lying areas. There will also be torrential rains in the hilly districts of Sikkim and North Bengal. The administration has asked to stay away from rivers and streams.
The entire Konkan belt including Mumbai is being flooded. Orange alert has been issued for Pune, Satara, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Latur and Dharashiv. Due to continuous rain the temperature has dropped by 3 to 4 degrees. There are reports of waterlogging on roads in Mumbai. Local trains may also be affected. There will be moderate rain in Valsad, Navsari and Dangs of Gujarat.
Monsoon is fully active in the coastal areas of Kerala. It is raining heavily in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada of Karnataka. There will be intermittent rainfall in Bengaluru also. Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh will receive moderate to heavy rain in the next two days. It will be cloudy in Chennai. This rain will speed up the sowing of paddy. There is relief on the faces of farmers.
Monsoon has gained momentum in the coastal districts of Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and eastern MP. Clouds will thunder in the sky and there will be light to heavy showers. Clouds will remain camped throughout the day in the northern areas of Bihar also. This news is a relief for farmers. Paddy and maize crops will benefit from this rain.
The Meteorological Department said not to leave the house unnecessarily where it is raining heavily. Those going to the mountains should be careful, stones can slip at any time. If there is lightning in the sky, do not make the mistake of standing under a tree. Where it is hot, heat stroke may occur. Don't even step out in the sun between 11 am and 4 pm. Don't let your throat dry up, keep drinking water and also keep ORS solution with you.
