Tensions Erupt Over Delayed Food

The wedding, meticulously planned seven months in advance, commenced with traditional festivities on December 22. The bride's family warmly welcomed the groom's party with sweets and proceeded to serve dinner. However, tensions flared when a member of the groom's party accused the bride's family of delaying the serving of rotis.

This accusation ignited a series of confrontations, escalating hostilities between the two families.Despite attempts to calm the agitated groom and his relatives, their anger intensified. The situation took a dramatic turn when the groom, identified as Mehtab, vanished during the night. Legal Action Taken by Bride’s Family

In the aftermath of this distressing incident, the bride's family sought recourse by filing a complaint at the Industrial Nagar Police Station. When they perceived no action being taken, they escalated their grievances to the Superintendent of Police (SP) on December 24.

The bride's family reported significant financial losses amounting to ₹7 lakh, which included ₹1.5 lakh given as dowry. They have urged authorities to register an FIR against five members of the groom's family and take appropriate legal action.

Criticism of Police Response

Raju, the bride’s brother, expressed his frustration regarding police inaction despite assurances from higher authorities. He voiced disappointment over the lack of responsiveness from law enforcement officials, especially in light of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s initiatives aimed at establishing women’s help desks in police stations for swift grievance resolution.
