New Delhi: In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA government won and formed the government at the center for the third consecutive time. However, the BJP did not get a clear majority. Now, a new survey has emerged, indicating who would form the government in the country if Lok Sabha elections were held today.

According to India Today's Mood of the Nation survey, if elections were held today, the NDA government would win a resounding victory. The BJP would secure a majority on its own. Meanwhile, the Congress's seat count would decrease compared to 2024.

What does the survey say?

According to the survey, if elections were held today, the BJP is projected to win 287 seats, the Congress 80, and others 176. The NDA is expected to win 352 seats, the INDIA alliance 182, and others 9. According to this survey, public support remains with the Modi government, and this support has strengthened compared to the 2024 elections. In the last election, the BJP won 240 seats and the Congress 99.

Seat Distribution: BJP - 287, Congress - 80, Others - 176

NDA vs. INDIA Alliance

NDA - 352

INDIA Alliance - 182

Others - 9

Vote Share: According to the survey, the NDA is projected to receive 47 percent of the votes, while the INDIA alliance is projected to receive 39 percent. Others would receive 14 percent of the votes.

What is the position of the BJP?

The BJP suffered a major setback in the last Lok Sabha elections. Although the NDA government was formed, the results were not as expected by the BJP. During the elections, the NDA had set a target of winning more than 400 seats, but the BJP did not even get a majority. However, the NDA government was formed. After this, assembly elections were held in several states including Bihar, Delhi, and Haryana, where the BJP performed strongly and registered victories. Furthermore, in a state like Maharashtra, the BJP made a comeback and formed the government by winning more seats than before.
