Bhopal: There was a stir in the entire area when a woman's body was found in a water tank (or septic tank) built on an empty plot in Bhopal's Kamal Nagar area (Chha Ghara, Nishatpura police station area) on Thursday. People nearby were disturbed by the strong smell, when they went closer they saw a big box floating in the tank. People informed the police; the team arrived and took out the box. A decomposed body of a woman was found inside – several days old, her condition had deteriorated due to being in water.
Heavy stones were kept in the box, it was clearly visible that they had been deliberately submerged so that it would not come up. Besides, a dead animal was also found in the tank, which made the atmosphere more scary. Police believe that the murder took place somewhere else and an attempt was made to dispose of the body here. The plot was lying vacant for a long time; there were fewer visitors. Perhaps this was taken advantage of.
The woman's live-in partner (Sameer), her mother, and her brother and sister have been detained in the investigation. Police say that the murder took place on the night of Saturday-Sunday; the body was kept in the house for a day, then sealed in a box and thrown in the tank. The name of the woman is said to be Ashrafi alias Siya (resident of Maharashtra). She was living with Sameer whom she met on Instagram. There is a possibility of murder by strangulation due to dispute in love relationship.
The postmortem report will reveal the exact cause of death. Police are interrogating nearby people and checking call details. Interrogation of the four accused is going on. There is an atmosphere of fear and anger in the area – people are saying that such incidents are scary. Police claim that the whole truth will soon be revealed.
