Bihar: In the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the most talked-about campaigner was Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Within just ten days of his campaigning he visited 31 seats, held rallies, led roadshows, and even walked through narrow local streets. What made this more striking was that many of the places he visited later showed the BJP taking the lead.
Yogi Adityanath began his campaign on 16 October and continued for ten straight days. During this time, he addressed rallies across districts such as Darbhanga, Gaya, Bhojpur, Saran, Mithila, Seemanchal, and Magadh. His roadshow in Darbhanga gained attention as people gathered in huge numbers.
Wherever he held rallies, BJP candidates gained momentum. In Jamui, Shreyasi Singh secured 75,453 votes with a lead of 34,376. In Tarari, Vishal Prashant was ahead by 9,197 votes. Kumar Pranay in Munger held a lead of 16,216, while Ranjan Kumar in Muzaffarpur led by 18,826. Many other seats such as Danapur, Saharsa, Buxar, Sikti, Parihar, and Motihari also showed progress for the BJP.
One exception appeared in Raghunathpur, where RJD’s Osama Shahab moved ahead with 58,399 votes and a lead of 16,894. This seat drew attention because Yogi had strongly criticized Shahab during his rally, calling the contest a fight between law and crime-based politics. His remarks became a topic of debate during the campaign.
BJP leaders claim Yogi’s visits created a mix of Hindutva and development themes, which shifted voters toward the NDA. In several close contests, they believe his presence changed the mood and helped the BJP gain the upper hand.
While the final results will confirm the true impact, the crowds and voting trends suggest that Yogi Adityanath became one of the key star campaigners for the NDA in Bihar.
