Thane: Disturbing news have emerged from the Mira Bhayandar area of the Thane district in Maharashtra. According to reports, usage of the 'zombie drug' has been witnessed in the area in recent days. Earlier usage of this dangerous drug had been reported in Bihar.
Last week, a video had surfaced showing a young man standing motionless on a busy road in Bengaluru for a staggering two hours. It is suspected that the young man may have consumed narcotics. A similar incident occurred just last month in Chandigarh, where a delivery executive for the company Blinkit stood motionless for several hours. At that time, the incident sparked a discussion regarding "Zombie Drugs." Now, with the emergence of this video featuring a young man in Bengaluru, that same discussion has reignited.
Many users on social media have shared the video of the young man standing perfectly still, much like a statue. The footage reportedly originates from the Bagalur area of Bengaluru. In the video, the young man is seen dressed in a T-shirt and trousers. He remains rooted to the same spot for a considerable period, offering no response to the people around him. He maintains this static posture for an extended duration.
Many users shared the video—depicting the young man standing like a statue on a bustling street—on 'X' (formerly Twitter). This sparked speculation that the highly dangerous "Zombie Drug" may have made its way into the city. Some observers speculated that the young man might have consumed Xylazine. Upon viewing the video, many offered various theories and claims, while others expressed deep concern over the situation.
Although the video has been widely shared across social media platforms, no administrative authority has yet issued a statement regarding the incident. The administration has not released any official information confirming whether the young man had indeed consumed drugs, or if his current state was a direct result of narcotics use. Questions regarding the young man's identity—and the precise cause of his condition—currently remain unanswered.
Following the video's widespread virality on social media, the Yelahanka Police Station in Bengaluru sought further details regarding the post. The police have provided an assurance that they will look into the matter and conduct a thorough investigation. However, the administration has yet to release any official information regarding the incident. Officials have appealed to the public not to reach any conclusions without verifying the video.
