Imran Khan's Sister Drops Big Claim on Operation Sindoor; Says Pakistan Army 'Hiding Defeat' (X)

Islamabad: Noreen Niazi, the sister of jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has claimed that India refrained from escalating the May 2025 armed conflict at the behest of Israel because Islamabad was moving towards recognising the West Asian country.

What did Noreen Niazi say?

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's sister Noreen Niazi has made a big claim about Operation Sindoor, stating that the condition of the Pakistan Army was very bad in Operation Sindoor. After continuous attacks by India, they went to international powers for help. After that, they saved Pakistan's reputation through various agreements.

In the interview, Niazi said, "What do you think? ... India, which is a big country, was not in position to respond to Pakistan when it attacked on May 10? It could have but India deliberately refrained from giving a strong response because of some understanding."

She also claimed, without offering any evidence, that contacts between Pakistan and Israel already existed, and linked US President Donald Trump's praise for Pakistan's military leadership to what she described as efforts to normalise relations with Israel.

Noreen Niazi said that despite all this, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are telling the people a false story of victory. Speaking about the situation in Pakistan in an interview, Noreen Niazi said that the situation of the Pakistan Army was very bad in the face of Indian attacks. After the Indian attack, Pakistan tried to stop it, but they were not successful. The Pakistani Army completely failed to handle it. After that, an atmosphere of fear was created at the army headquarters in Rawalpindi. The Pakistani leadership requested the international community to reach an agreement with India.

What did Noreen Niazi say about Donald Trump?

This campaign, which was launched under the name 'Marka-e-Haq', completely failed. After that, the Pakistani leadership sought help from the international community to reach an agreement with India. Donald Trump, who had been aloof from the issue until a few days ago, agreed to talk to Pakistan with some conditions.

Why did India stop its attacks?

According to Noreen Niazi, India has good relations with Israel. Trump put forward some conditions for Pakistan to recognize Israel, Abraham Accords and others. Niazi said that the Pakistani military administration was so weakened by India's attacks that it was even ready to recognize Israel. On the other hand, India, considering this opportunity for the balance of power in South Asia, reduced the intensity of the attacks.

What did Niazi say about Asim Munir and Shehbaz Sharif?

Niazi said that after the Indo-Pak conflict ended, Asim Munir and Shehbaz Sharif started presenting it as their victory to the public. The Pakistani military administration thought that the joy of this victory would quell the anger over the recognition of Israel. But before that, the issue of Iran came to the fore and this matter was postponed.

What was Operation Sindoor?

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, in which 26 civilians were killed. The strikes led to four days of intense clashes between the two neighbours before an understanding to stop military action was reached on May 10. Islamabad named the conflict 'Marka-e-Haq'.
