Gujarat Titans Face Scare As Team Bus Breaks Down With Smoke After RCB Loss

Ahmedabad: The pain of final defeat did not end here for Gujarat Titans. When the team was returning to the hotel after losing to RCB by 5 wickets in Ahmedabad on Sunday night, there was a short circuit in their bus. As soon as the smoke started filling up, the players and support staff had to evacuate the bus in the middle of the road.

What happened on the bus? 

According to PTI news, the bus suddenly stopped on the way from Narendra Modi Stadium to the hotel. Due to short circuit, smoke started filling inside. The driver immediately stopped the bus and asked everyone to get down. It was fortunate that no one was hurt. The players stood on the roadside carrying kit bags. The entire team kept waiting on the road for about 20 minutes. Later, another bus was called and everyone was taken to the hotel. This scene was even more scary after losing the final.

Did Gujarat lose due to fatigue? 

GT has had a wild last week. On May 27, the team went from Dharamshala to Mullanpur. On May 29, Qualifier-2 was played against Rajasthan there. There was a flight to Ahmedabad on 30th May but the weather deteriorated in Mullanpur. The team could reach Ahmedabad only late on Saturday night. There was no time for rest before the final. Many people are saying that due to this fatigue, Gujarat got stuck at 155 runs and lost the final.

What did Vikram Solanki say on fatigue? 

Team's Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki clearly refused to make any excuse. Said in the press conference, "I will not say that we lost because we were tired. RCB played well, they deserved to win." Solanki admitted that 155 runs were few, but the bowlers put up a fight. He said, "Sometimes the team in front also plays well, this has to be accepted. We will see what we could have done better, but will not make the excuse of fatigue."

Where did GT miss in the final? 

Batting first, Gujarat could score only 155 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. No batsman could play a big innings. RCB chased the target after losing 5 wickets and lifted the trophy for the second consecutive time. Gujarat's dream of winning the second title after 2022 was shattered.

Losing the final was bad enough. On top of that the bus met with an accident. The players were equally disappointed after the defeat. Seeing the bus breaking down and smoke on the road, everyone became more nervous. However, it is a matter of relief that everyone is safe.
