India's Abhishek Sharma made history in the fifth T20 International match against England, breaking several significant records. His remarkable performance has etched his name in India's cricket history for his fastest century in T20Is and other record-breaking feats.

Fastest century in T20 internationals for India

Abhishek Sharma’s blistering 100 in just 37 balls made him the second-fastest Indian player to score a T20I century, following Rohit Sharma, who set the record in 2017 with a 35-ball century against Sri Lanka. Sharma’s rapid ton is a testament to his power and precision, breaking records that had stood for years.

Record-breaking score and match impact

In addition to his century, Sharma also set the record for the highest individual score by an Indian in a T20I match. He amassed a phenomenal 135 runs off 54 balls before being dismissed by Adil Rashid. His explosive innings helped India post an incredible 247 runs in their 20 overs.

Sharma also set a record for the second-fastest T20I fifty for India, reaching the landmark in just 17 balls. The record for the fastest Indian fifty in T20Is is still held by Yuvraj Singh, who scored his in just 12 balls against England in 2007.
