India Won the Asia Cup 2025… But Where’s the Trophy? Here’s the Full Story (Image Source: X)
Asia Cup Trophy Row: Team India defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final on September 28 to lift the title. However, when it comes to the trophy, India has still not received it. The Asia Cup trophy remains with Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who has refused to hand it over directly to the Indian Team. This unusual situation has delayed the official handover, but there is a strong possibility that India may finally get the trophy today.
According to media reports, Pakistan’s Home Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the ACC Chairman, is about to check out of his Dubai hotel today and return to Pakistan. Clearly, even though he is the ACC Chairman, he cannot take the trophy to Pakistan. Naqvi will have to keep the trophy at the ACC headquarters, where it should have been placed in the first place, but is still lying in the hotel. Once Naqvi checks out, the trophy will also move to the ACC headquarters.
The Asia Cup trophy is still at the ACC headquarters, and Team India can collect it once Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is no longer present there. Other ACC or UAE cricket board officials are ready to hand it over to India. Before leaving for Pakistan, Naqvi said the trophy is at the headquarters and even invited captain Suryakumar Yadav to come and take it. But Surya has refused, as he did not accept the trophy from Naqvi after the final against Pakistan, and he won’t do so now either.
