Big Blow for Team India! Ishan Kishan Misses Second T20I Against New Zealand, BCCI Confirms (X@CricCrazyJohns)
New Delhi: The Indian team has suffered a big setback during the T20 series against New Zealand. Wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan will not be able to play in the second T20 match of the series due to injury. BCCI gave this information on Friday. Ishaan suffered a slight injury to the muscle near his right thigh during the first T20 match. At present the medical team is keeping an eye on his fitness. However, the board has not told when he will be able to return to the field.
In an update released on social media platform X, BCCI said that Ishan Kishan has suffered a low-grade strain in the right adductor muscle. This injury occurred during the first T20 match against New Zealand. For this reason, it has been decided to keep him out of the second match. The adductor muscles are in the inner part of the thigh and play an important role in the movement of the legs. These muscles can get stressed during fast running, changing direction and batting in cricket. The player's return is decided based on the severity of the injury and the state of recovery.
The board clarified in its statement that the medical team is monitoring Ishaan's progress. However, no specific timeline has been given regarding how much time it will take to recover from his injury. In such a situation, it is too early to say whether Ishaan will be available for the next matches of the series or not. The team management will take further decisions keeping in mind his fitness.
