Jasprit Bumrah once again bowled brilliantly and demolished England’s batting unit. After taking a five-wicket haul in the Leeds Test, Bumrah has now repeated the brilliance at Lord’s. With this performance, he becomes the Indian bowler with the most five-wicket hauls (13) on foreign soil. Not only that, Bumrah has now taken five wickets in an innings against England more times than against any other team in his career. Let’s take a look at the records Bumrah created and how he rattled England’s batting lineup in just 7 deliveries.

England Trapped in Jasprit Bumrah’s “Claws”

On the first day, India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took only one wicket, but on the second day, he came down like a storm on the England team. He first bowled Ben Stokes. He dismissed Chris Woakes on the very next delivery, striking twice in two balls. Before anyone could process it, he also took the wicket of century-maker Joe Root. Bumrah took these three wickets within just 7 balls. He later bowled Jofra Archer to complete his five-wicket haul.

Jasprit Bumrah’s Dream Comes True

This is Bumrah’s fifth five-wicket haul against England — the most he has taken against any team. Against Australia, he has achieved the feat four times. England is the team against which Bumrah has taken the most Test wickets. Claiming a five-wicket haul at Lord’s marked the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream for the pace ace. This is the first time he has taken a five-wicket haul at the iconic ground. As a result, Bumrah’s name will now be etched on the Lord’s Honours Board — a dream for every cricketer. Notably, even a legend like Sachin Tendulkar doesn’t have his name on the board, as he never scored a Test century at Lord’s, despite hitting 51 Test hundreds in his career.

Bumrah’s Records

Jasprit Bumrah has now claimed the most five-wicket hauls (13) on foreign soil by an Indian bowler, breaking Kapil Dev’s long-standing record. Among Asian bowlers, he has now equalled the legendary Wasim Akram. Wasim Akram had taken 11 five-wicket hauls in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia), and now Bumrah has reached that same number.
