Sports News: In the five-match Test series played against England, Jasprit Bumrah took part in only three matches. Actually, for quite some time now, there has been a lot of talk about Jasprit Bumrah's workload. He is constantly getting injured, due to which Bumrah has not taken part in many important matches. Regarding this, former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin has given a stern warning to Bumrah. According to him, what will happen if India needs Bumrah very much in any situation?
According to Mid-Day, Mohammad Azharuddin said, “If it is a matter of injury, then the board and the players should be allowed to take a decision about it. But I believe that when you are in the team, you cannot play a match according to your own will. There is a workload, but at this level you have to manage it according to your own will. You are playing for your country. It is a different story that Siraj performed well on one occasion along with Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep, and the good thing for us was that we won the match without Bumrah. But what if India needs Bumrah very much in a situation?
Mohammad Azharuddin also praised Indian Test team captain Shubman Gill. Talking about Shubman Gill, he was the highest run scorer in the Test series against England. He scored 754 runs in five tests. Azharuddin further said, "Before the start of the tour, many people criticized Captain Gill, but this young team performed brilliantly. The batsmen played their role well, especially Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Jadeja. Gill started his captaincy tenure with a bang."
The five-match Test series between England and India ended in a 2-2 draw. The players of both the teams had performed brilliantly. While Shubman Gill was the highest run scorer, Mohammad Siraj took the most wickets in the Test series. Siraj took 23 wickets in five matches of this Test series.
